International Rec2Rec is one of the most common searches when Recruiters start searching for new roles, but why is this?
Generally speaking, and particularly after their first role in recruitment, recruiters like to entertain the idea of working abroad. Getting to experience living in another country, a new challenge, or maybe just earning some extra money in a more generous tax system.
The most common issue that comes up with this kind of job search is that people don’t know where to start when researching where to go. Which country? Which city? What’s the cost of living? What are the areas to avoid? All of this has to happen before you’re even able to start considering the pros and cons of individual companies.
Then there’s the cost of the move. Often you’ll find that agencies covering sectors in which you have experience will be happy to pay for your relocation, so you need to know whether this is viable in your situation, and if so, who those companies are.
You need to be advised by somebody who is used to encountering these issues, knows the markets that you will be moving to, knows who the employers of choice are in those markets, and knows how to land a role with them. That’s where we come in.
Before even considering a new opportunity – whether that’s locally, in a new city, or abroad, you have to spend time deciding and defining what it is that you actually want to achieve in your next role, and what it needs to look like. Without this, we’re far less likely to be able to give you meaningful advice.
